The Hanumanganj police have arrested 24-year-old youth for a dowry death; his wife had committed suicide on June 10 at Qazi Camp and during the investigation accused and his parents were booked for dowry death.
Police said that the deceased Gudiya Khan (20) committed suicide after she was harassed by her husband and in laws. Police booked deceased’s husband Shahrukh Khan. Initially after the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem and a case under section 174 of the CrPC was registered by the police. later, during the investigation, police found that the deceased was harassed by her husband daily and would also resort to assault demanding dowry. Based on the findings of the investigation the accused was nabbed by police on Thursday.
The police registered a case under section 304 B and 498 A of the IPC and started further investigation. During the investigation no suicide note was found by the police and late in the investigation harassment by the husband was revealed.
The deceased married to Shahrukh last year but the relationship was not on good terms after the marriage and eventually she took extreme step of suicide.
The deceased married to Shahrukh two years ago and after few months of the marriage she was harassed for dowry and later depressed over the harassment she committed suicide. Police said that the deceased was found in an unconscious state at her residence and was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead.
