Staff Reporter

Allopathic doctors of the State demonstrated against various policies of the Central Government and suspended their services for three hours on Wednesday. The doctors of the government hospitals also supported the protest by wearing the black ribbons.

Indian Medical Association (IMA) took out a rally from the Gandhi medical college to commissioner’s office in order to protest against the National Medical Commission and the other policies of the Government pertaining to the allopathic doctors.

While talking to The Pioneer on Wednesday, Indian Medical Association’s (IMA) State President Dr PS Chandel told that around 500 to 1000 allopathic doctors took part in the protest and the rally. Apart from Bhopal, IMA has conducted the protest in all the districts of Madhya Pradesh.

The Government has not fulfilled the demands of the association. IMA has suspended its agitation after getting the assurance from the Central Government in the year 2015 but the government has taken no action on the demands of the association.

Chandel has demanded that central law should be made for the security of the doctors and strict laws should be made in order to prevent the non-allopathic doctors from treating the patients using the allopathic ways. IMA has received the support of all the allopathic doctors’ associations of the country.

Medical Council of India (MCI) should be re-established in the amended form along with the commercial freedom of the doctors. The National Medical Commission should be dissolved.
