Staff Reporter

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that it is the duty of all of us to repay the debt of our mother land. Do not forget your village, your soil. Must visit your village once in a year. Be sure to touch the feet of the elders of your village, whether they are poor or rich, and seek their blessings. Today I have come with my family to celebrate the pride day of my village. Its message is that when a CM can do it, why can't you.

Chief Minister Chouhan along with his family attended the Gaurav Divas celebrations of his home village Jait today. He respected the talents of the village, took the blessings of the elders, rewarded the meritorious students. At the same time, the villagers were made to resolve to get rid of liquor, plant trees, respect daughters, make their village clean and beautiful and save electricity/water. Chief Minister Chouhan provided Aajeevika Express and laptops to the sisters of self-help groups. He also awarded the winners of other sports activities including boat race organized on the occasion of Gaurav Diwas.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that whatever I am today, I am with the blessings of Mother Narmada and my village Jait. Whatever I learned, I learned from the soil of Jait. Many old memories related to the village are coming today. I used to swim across the Narmada, used to meditate for hours on the Kachhar. Waking up early in the morning, all the children in the village used to collect water and offer it to the deities there.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that today all the people who have come from outside are our guests at the Gaurav Diwas function of village Jait. I welcome everyone including Commissioner, IG, Collector, SP. The tradition of celebrating the pride day of villages and towns has been started in the state so that we do not forget our villages and towns, remain connected with them continuously and contribute fully to their progress and development.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that women make full contribution in the development of family, society and nation. My wife Mrs. Sadhna Singh gives full support in my every work. It is the duty of all of us to respect sisters and daughters and work continuously for their welfare. Daughters have the highest respect in the state, a provision has been made for capital punishment against those who misbehave with them.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that no stone will be left unturned in the development of the village. A composite panchayat building will be built in the village, in which the sisters of the self-help group will have seating, rural mart, ATM, BC room etc. He also announced the construction of a stadium in Jait. The Chief Minister said that women are being empowered through self-help groups. Our target is that every sister's income should be at least Rs 10,000 per month.

Member of Parliament Ramakant Bhargava also addressed at the Gaurav Diwas function. He said that Son of Jait Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has not only changed the map of Jait but of the entire state.
