Benefits of the Central Government schemes will be provided to the destitute people only on the basis of universal ID which will be provided by the social justice department of the Government of India.
This ID will be issued to the beneficiaries on the basis of information to be provided on the Samagra Sparsh Portal.
Following directives from the Union Government, work on preparations for the Universal ID has already been started by the zonal offices of Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC).
Destitutes of the city have been asked to come to the IMC zonal offices along with their relevant documents to get their universal IDs. District collector P Narhari has
directed IMC and officials of the social justice department to carry out adequate publicity across the cities and districts for the preparations of the universal IDs so that no destitute in the district is left without universal ID.
Collector said that as per the instructions received from the social justice department of the Government of India, special camps would be organized at all zonal offices of the IMC till September 13.
He said special counters have been set up at all IMC zonal offices. The destitute that have destitute certificates, Aadhar Cards, ID numbers, mobile numbers and photographs can get their universal IDs prepared at the IMC zonal offices within the stipulated time period.
For the convenience of people the district administration has appointed representatives of Government and non-government organisations at these zonal offices.
