Newly posted Defence Estate Officer (DEO) Sapan Kumar on Wednesday walked into the live marriage function at illegally operated Maheshwari School cum marriage garden and got the marriage program stopped and got the garden evacuated on the spot.
Earlier, few days ago, he had served notices to illegally operated marriage gardens in the cantonment area. However, the marriage garden operators did not take the notices seriously.
Now, after the instructions of DEO Sapan Kumar, a warning of prohibition of marriage in the garden is written on the front walls of each marriage garden in bold letters.
While talking to The Pioneer defence estate officer Sapan Kumar said that these marriage gardens have no permission from cantonment board office and defence estate office Mhow and they have no permission from pollution board, fire brigade, they have no parking facility and they have no sewerage treatment plant and though they are charging heavy rent from common people per day but they are not paying any tax to the government. One of the garden owners also tried to pressurize him and shouted in the premises of his government office.
Notably, November 18, 2019 The Pioneer had published a news on illegal marriage gardens in Mhow cantonment causing pollution and traffic jams near these big gardens with building and rooms constructed at- Uttam marriage garden, Chopda ki vatika marriage garden, Champawala marriage garden besides mall road, Sainath marriage garden and Pal marriage garden. Interestingly, these marriage gardens have no permission of marriage garden from cantonment board as these marriage gardens are situated on defence land in ministry of defence record.
