Dengue claims four lives in Shivpuri district

PNS

Four persons have lost their life due to dengue in Shivpuri district in the past two months. However, instead of taking strict measures, the district administration and the health department refuse to accept the deaths due to dengue.

In past two months, 148 patients of fever have been detected positive for Dengue.

The Health department conducted a survey of 22,000 households and Dengue larva was found in 3,588 houses.

Maximum number of 80 patients is from Shivpuri urban, while in Satanvara and Pohari regions, 24 and 21 patients have been found respectively.

Ironically, the Health department officials are not ready to accept any death due to Dengue. They claim that the reasons of death were different, other than the deadly Dengue that has gripped the whole district.

Almost all the regions of the district are facing problems of Dengue, but the administration seems to have turned Nelson’s eye towards the problem.

After media reporters of the recent past, on Friday, the district administration has declared Shivpuri district as Malaria notified. Now, officials of five departments- District panchayat department, School Education department and Woman and Child Development department besides Health department, Malaria department and Municipalities- have been directed to deal with the alarming situation.

The administration has notified the Shivpuri district as Dengue hit district and this notification would remain effective for six months.
