Demonetisation anti-poor: AAP

Staff Reporter

Aam Admi Party (AAP) has alleged that the decision of demonetization has been taken against the poor and in favour of capitalists who have bagged `8 lakh crore of the banks.

State convenor of the party Alok Agrawal alleged that the Modi government has already waived off `1 lakh crore loan to capitalists and now preparing to provide them relief on remaining loans by depositing cash of the common people in the banks.

Against the decision of monetization, the AAP organised a dharna at neelam park and the party workers observed daylong fast on the occasion.

Agrawal stated that with this anti-people decision, the economy has completely demolished. There is complete chaos in the country; construction works, business, farming and other works have come to standstill. People are not left with cash even for moving in public transport and buying milk for the children.

He said that more than 50 people have died in queues of banks or ATMs in the country so far and they included 10 in Madhya Pradesh.

Since, Madhya Pradesh has agriculture based economy, the farmers are facing worst days.

They are unable to sell their produce in mandis and unable to deposit their cash in the cooperative banks, he alleged.

He stated that the real black money is deposited in banks of foreign countries and the list of account holders is with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Instead of scrapping `1000 and `500 currency notes, if efforts were made to bring black money from foreign countries, the country would have not suffered, he added.
