State Congress has alleged that the definite victory claims by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the recently held election on 29 parliamentary constituencies of Madhya Pradesh are act of insult to the discretion of electorate.
Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Arun Yadav in a statement here on Monday said, “The process of electioneering is still on in the country as polling still remain in some states, the states where election has been completed mandate has been sealed in the EVM and no one can claim the number of votes in favour or opposition.
In these circumstances the claims by the BJP leaders for definite victory amount to insult of the discretion of electorate.”
Yadav further said that the election system of the country is so much confidential and reliable that no one could contaminate it, be how much powerful and influential be, and it is this confidentiality and the reliability is the strength of the Indian election system.
At this point of time no one could say that which the results go on May 16, when the counting of votes would be held. Hence, how the BJP leaders are making claims that the people have voted in their party’s favour and that they are going to win the general elections, he added.
He said that it for the first time in the history of the country that such haughty claims of getting elected and forming next government are made amid the election process when the people are still having their voting right with them, they are yet to exercise their franchise.
This is clear cut insult to their voting right and an act of challenging the constitutional right of the real rulers of the country, the voters, he added.
The BJP leaders should know that it is only the people of the country, who have the right of electing any party for making or rejecting Government in democracy, hence they should leave it on the people and stop making false claims.
