The system is being evolved for extending effective assistance within minimum time in cases of disaster like floods, dust storms, typhoons, rail and road accidents, earthquake, fire incidents and leakage of chemical gases in the state. The system is being developed to make the state safe and capable to deal with disasters. All government and private resources, social and charitable organisations and volunteers coming forward for assistance in disasters have been associated with it.

While giving presentation, DG Home Guards Maithilisharan Gupta informed that toll-free number 1079 is being conducted for disaster relief. Under the system, over one lakh 10,000 civil defence volunteers will be imparted training to provide relief and first aid in different types of disasters. District-wise enlisting of health centres, schools, colleges, warehouses and other large buildings which can be useful during disasters, drinking water sources and electricity supply centres has been done. About 10 lakh vehicles that can be useful during disasters have also been linked to the system.

In case of disaster, this system will inform government and non-government organisations and social institutions through website or mobile. It will also direct local trained volunteers to rush to the spot. CS stressed the need for wide publicity of the system. He also directed start training on priority in flood-prone areas of the state. ACS Finance AP Shrivastava, ACS Home BP Singh and other officers were present on the occasion.
