With the changing weather pattern day temperatures have soared in the state still impact of snowfall in Uttarakhand and active systems is seen in few parts of the state, slight respite from the heat due to the cool breeze is likely.
Strong winds brought down the mercury by 3 to 4 degree clesius in many areas on Saturday night. In Pachmarhi, the mercury dipped below 10 degree celsius and was recorded below 15 degree celsius in most parts of the state.
Met official said that due to cold winds, this change has happened in the weather. At present for 2 to 3 days, the day and night temperature will continue to be much lower or higher. The new system will be become active from March 8. Due to this, there is a possibility of light rain in some areas of the state from March 7.
In some areas the night temperature came down to below 10 degrees. The maximum drop in temperature was observed in Bhopal, Gwalior and Jabalpur. Here the night temperature came down by 3 to 4 degree celsius. The minimum temperature recorded in Bhopal was below 13, while in Gwalior it went down to below 12. It remains between 14 to 15 degree Celsius in Jabalpur and Indore. A slight drop in temperature was also recorded in Indore.
Presently, the new Western Disturbance is lying around Iran as a trough. The Low Pressure Area in southwest Bay of Bengal is active and next Western Disturbance is likely to become effective from March 8.
