After arriving half an hour late on work, a 50-year-old dalit woman was abused and physically assaulted by owner of hotel at Jawahar Chowk in the morning on Thursday; accused is husband of a BJP corporator.
The delay in reaching at work proved costly for 50-year-old Yasoda Khobragade who was abused and physically assaulted by hotel owner Rakesh Jain.
Rakesh owns Anupam Sweets at Jawahar Chowk and the victim works as help at the hotel. Jain is husband of BJP corporator of ward no. 25 Saroj Jain.
SHO of TT Nagar Dinesh Chouhan said that the matter is under investigation the claims made by the victim and her family would be investigated.
The victim has raised allegations in the complaint against Rakesh Jain who owns a sweets shop Anupam Sweets at Jawahar Chowk that when she arrived late at the shop on Thursday morning Rakesh started to abuse her and later assaulted her. The victim returned home and reported the incident to the family member and later family members along with the victim went to lodge a complaint against Rakesh with TT Nagar police, he added.
The family members have raised allegations of beating of the victim by Rakesh in the past but they have not reported the incident.
The victim work as a help with the shop for long but faced atrocities due to her belonging to lower caste alleged family members. The police have registered a case under section 294 and 323 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
