Crime Branch Bhopal arrested 3 bookies including brother of externed accused Imran, seized cash along with slips of transactions of lakhs of rupees.
Irfan is the brother of Imran, the notorious bookie and district badar of Bairagarh. Accused would calculate and collect betting money through Paytm and PhonePe. Betting slips worth lakhs of rupees were found. The accused do the work of betting while roaming. Accused have a criminal record.
The team of police station crime branch Bhopal received information from the informer that near Sadhu Baswani College, Bairagarh some boys are writing slips by transacting illegal money, on information informed by the informer by the team of police station crime branch Bhopal.
Shankar Meena (31), Irfan Khan(22) and Sagar Meena(21) were arrested.
From Shankar's possession slips in which lakhs of rupees were bet and Rs 2330 rupees were recovered. From Irfan Khan cash Rs 2520 were recovered and Sagar Meena's Rs 2300 were recovered. After confiscating a total cash amount of Rs 7150 from the accused, investigation is being done by registering a crime against the accused.
The accused roam around the city for betting and accept betting on mobile through phone pay and paytm. On the basis of mobile call details of the arrested accused, information about betting players and transactions done through UPI app is being obtained from their banks.
Case under 322 and 506 of the IPC was registered against Irfan Khan and section 294,323,307,34 and 506 IPC.
Sagar Meena was booked under sections 147,148,149,294,341,302,323 of the IPC and 25 and 27 of Arms Act.
