Communist Party of India – Marxist (CPI–M) condemned the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for announcing Rs 1 crore to anyone who would bring the Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s severed head.

CPI–M Madhya Pradesh secretary Badal Saroj in a statement here on Thursday said, “A RSS leader has announced in Ujjain on Wednesday a sum of `1 crore for the democratically elected Chief Minister’s head. By this the RSS has reconfirmed that it spearheads the politics of violence and terror as has been clear in Kerala in the recent months.”

Saroj further said the Polit Bureau of the CPI - M strongly condemns the threats being issued by RSS leaders against the Kerala Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan and  demands that immediate action in accordance with law must be taken by the state and the central Governments.

The silence of the Governments is an endorsement that emboldens the RSS to issue such obnoxious threats, he added.

He said that the double face of the RSS over its protests against alleged Kerala violence was exposed when one of its leader also associated with the BJP stated that his organisation do murders in Kerala. The same murderous Talibani psyche of the RSS has been exposed once again in Ujjain city of Madhya Pradesh when one of its office bearer who is also a Government official, has used a public forum to issue a serious threat – offering Rs one crore to anyone who would bring him the Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s severed head to him.

He said we call on all the Indians who are democracy lovers, supporters of constitution and rule of law to get up against this murderous psyche.

Notably, Dr Kundan Chandrawat, posted with the malaria office of the Madhya Pradesh health department at Ujjain, is the city level publicity chief (prachar pramukh) of RSS who announced award on Kerala chief minister’s head. At a protest programme organized at Shahid Park in Ujjain by local Janadhikar Samiti on Wednesday evening, Dr Chandrawat said that anyone who can bring the head of Kerala CM - ‘who is killer of swayamsevaks (RSS activists)’ - can get his property worth Rs one crore.

The programme was organized to protest the alleged attacks on and killings of RSS and ABVP workers in Kerala. local Member of Parliament (MP) Chintamani Malviya and MlA Mohan Yadav and Ujjain mayor were also present at the venue, when the RSS leader came up with the threat.
