Staff Reporter

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the State Government is making all necessary arrangements for the treatment of corona patients on a priority basis. All treatment arrangements are being completed on a war footing. Essential medicines, along with Remdesivir injection and oxygen supply, are also being done uninterruptedly. Chouhan said that oxygen plants are being set up in various districts of the State, some of which have been started. Madhya Pradesh will be self-dependent in terms of oxygen soon.

So far, about 01.50 lakh doses of Remdesivir Injection have been received from 7 different companies in the State. On Thursday, 2,700 doses of injections have been received from private supplies, whose fair and equitable distribution has been ensured. By Saturday afternoon, 15,000 doses will be received in the Government supply.

The Central Government has assured 643 metric tonnes per day oxygen supply from April 22.

On Thursday, the State was supplied 463 metric tonnes of oxygen. 2000 oxygen concentrators have been purchased by the State Government to streamline the supply of oxygen. More than one thousand oxygen concentrators have been installed in 34 districts of the state through local arrangements.

The latest (VPSA) technology-based oxygen plants are being set up in 5 district hospitals (Bhopal, Rewa, Indore, Gwalior, and Shahdol) through the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, an organisation authorised by the Government of India, at a cost of Rs 1.60 crore. About 300 to 400 liters per minute of oxygen will be produced, which will be sufficient for about 50 beds. Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country to install oxygen plants with this latest technology.

In collaboration with the Government of India, PSA technology-based 8 oxygen plants have been approved in 8 districts of the state, out of which 5 plants have started functioning.

The State Government is setting up new oxygen plants prepared by PSA technology in 37 district hospitals with its own budget. Of these, plants will be started in 13 districts by May 16 in the first phase. In the second phase, the plants in 9 districts will be operational by May 23. In the third phase, the target is to start oxygen plants by July 20 in the remaining 15 districts.
