Crime branch seized 65.5 liters of illegally transported country made liquor and a scooter worth around Rs 1.2 lakh from three accused which were nabbed from different places of the city.
Information was received that a person who was selling liquor in front of the old Narmada Bhawan team reached the spot and nabbed the accused identified as Mukesh Gondane of Arjun Nagar and 50 bottles of Whiskey of 180 ML each were recovered from him.
Another accused was detained near a vegetable shop under Panchwati Colony Bridge a liquor box was seen kept under the cover of the vegetable shop, and the accused was identified as Roop Singh Kushwaha of Raisen.
Third bootlegger Deepak alias Kallu Kuchbadiya was detained on a scooter bearing registration number MP04UJ6001 was going from Ashoka Garden towards Chhola with four cartons of liquor and when he reached near Dwarka Nagar under Bridge he was nabbed.
In the three cases after the preliminary investigation, a case under section 34 (A) of the Excise Act. The buyers of the liquor provided by the accused would be investigated in the further investigation.
