A timely action on the part of the police and the IMC administration prevented a possible communal flare-up in Khajrana locality of the city after parts of animal bodies were found lay strewn on a road in Utkarsh Vihar Colony of the city local in Khajrana police station area.

The incident came to light on Friday afternoon when residents of Utkarsh Vihar colony under Khajrana police station area found body parts of animals lying strewn on the road. They immediately informed about the matter to the police control room. As the news spread a large crowd of people gathered at the incident site. After being informed about the matter, workers of Hindu outfits in the city also gathered there in large number.

When Khajrana police station TI CB Singh was informed about the matter, he hurriedly sent a posse of police force from the police station to the incident site to take stock of the situation. In the meantime, Khajrana TI alerted about the matter to Indore municipal corporation officials who promptly swinging into action, deputed its employees and got the body parts of animals collected before it could have triggered people of a particular community to make it a communal issue.

Hindu activists who had gathered there did not apparently look pleased with the course of action taken by the police and were of the view that police should have inquired into the matter to reach to the bottom of the matter. Khajrana TI however, dismissed the incident as normal saying that it appeared to be an accidental case and as such there was hardly any suspicious angle to the matter.
