With the winter season at the doorstep, police have initiated a drive against dacoits and will be conducting massive search operations in the State.
Police have claimed that the district has not seen any recent dacoity but they have not ruled out the presence of local goons in the neighbouring areas who are adding teeth to these dacoits.
There is also a possibility that absconding criminals are hiding in the forest, police sources claimed.An anti-dacoity budget has been sanctioned in this regard.Police have issued tenders to purchase 20 solar lanterns, 20 solar to arch, 88 lED to arch, 45 pairs of water-proof camps, 50 pairs of shoes.
