Having lost three consecutive Assembly elections and out of power in Madhya Pradesh for over 12 years, the Opposition Congress, party is following footprints of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to return to power. The party raised the issue of women’s Akhada at the ongoing Simhastha at Ujjain in the State.
MP Congress Committee (MPCC) spokesperson Dipti Singh in a statement alleged that despite Indore High Court order the Shivraj Singh Chouhan led BJP Government of the State did not provide place to the Pari Akhada of women in Simhastha and condemned the act of insult of women Saints.
Dipti said, “While on one hand the Chief Minister pretends to be the brother of all women of the State, on the other hand he is insulting women, Sadhvis and saints.”
Dipti further said that though the women breaking centuries old tradition have performed prayers at Shani and other temples but in Ujjain Simhastha the Pari Akhada of women could not get authorization. Despite Indore high Court’s order to the BJP Government of the State the Ujjain administration neither fixed time of bath for the Pari Akhada of women nor did it provided it any place on the Ghats of Shipra River on the occasion of first Shahi Snan.
This attitude of Government has angered the Shri Sarveshvar Mahadev Benkuthdham Mukti’s Pari Akhada chief Jagatguru Trikal Bhavta and she has started fast unto death due to that her health deteriorated and she has been admitted in the ICU of the district hospital of Ujjain, she added.
She said that while the Prime Minister and Chief Minister claim of doing women empowerment, injustice is done with the half population of the country by denying authorisation to women’s Pari Akhara.
