Congress leaders conduct online survey for tickets

Many Congress leaders in Madhya Pradesh are conducting online surveys to consolidate their claims for the party tickets from constituency of their choice. Though the surveys do not have any official authorisation from the Congress party but those who conduct it would certainly use the results of the surveys as pressure building tactics over party leadership during distribution of tickets.

Interestingly, the Congress party has nothing to do with such surveys but the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has knowledge about them.

MPCC chief spokesman KK Mishra while talking to The Pioneer over the issue said, "This is an era of social media, every individual is free to do things of choice and the party has not asked anyone to conduct surveys of any kind."

One such survey over www.poll.pollcode.com is going on for Bhopal Madhya Assembly constituency in that nine names are provided and the people have been asked to vote for the candidate who could win. The link of the poll is widely shared on social networking sites Facebook and Whatsapp groups and people are asked to vote for the leader of their choice by the supporters of the leaders whose name is included in the list.

The supporters of the candidates whose names are included in the survey are asking people through Whatsapp and Facebook to vote for the leader who could win from Bhopal Madhya, names of MPCC general secretary and former legislator PC Sharma, losers of 2008 and 2013 from the same constituency Nasir Islam and Arif Masood figures in the list besides Sajid Ali, Syed Sajid Ali, Munawwar Kosar, leader of opposition in Bhopal Municipal Corporation Mohammed Saghir, Abdul Nasir and Asif Zaki.

Abdul Nafis, a former MPCC secretary and close confidant of former State spokesman of Congress Arif Masood who is actively asking his Facebook friends and members of Whatsapp groups he admin to participate in online voting for Bhopal Madhya constituency, said, "We did not post the survey and don't even know who made it online, but when we saw our leaders name in it so we started asking people for their support so that we could take advantage of it."
