State Congress has demanded white paper from the State Government over the funds it received from the Central Government and the development works executed with these funds received under different schemes.

Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee vice president laxman Singh in a statement here on Friday stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government of the State should issue white paper on the funds it received from the central Government during the past ten years.

Singh, younger brother of Congress general secretary and former chief minister of the state Digvijay Singh said, “Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is seeking funds from the union ministers by writing letters to them, but he has never told the people of the State as how much funds has his Government received under various schemes from the Centre and as how he utilised these funds.”

He claimed that as per his knowledge, the BJP government has received funds over Rs two lakh crore only during the past five years under various schemes. Innumerous development works have been executed with these funds in the State and alleged that the Chief Minister does not have slightest of political honesty, that is why he hides the funds received by the Sentre for the development of the State and labels the schemes funded by the centre in his Government names. Thus, Chouhan has been cheating with the people of the State, he added.

The senior Congress leader alleged that the Chief Minister is out to take credit of all the development works executed by Centre-funded schemes. This is not justified, he should come out with clarification by issuing white paper, he added.
