Staff Reporter

Under the leadership of State president of Women’s Congress Mandvi Chouhan a hullabol agitation would be held at Roshanpura Square on Monday 10 am protesting against the harassment women face on a daily basis.

Madhya Pradesh Mahila Congress general secretary and office secretary Geeta Mishra said in a statement here on Sunday that the Women Congress activists  would laid seize chief minister’s house and would also present bangles to the chief minister. Madhya Pradesh is leading in the cases of female harassment. The women in the state do not feel secure as the cases of harassment are on a rise. The state feels embarrassed by looking at its numbers in harassment case, she added.

Mishra further said that they have felt the need to protest as they too have close experience. The women are not safe under the BJP government and Chief Minister is not in his right mind. The words said by the chief minister in regard to the women and their safety is a fake emotion and the faith in those words has lost its color, she added.

She said that the will to protect has been proven weak in the chief minister.  This is the reason the Women’s Congress activist will organise this protest and gift the chief minister with three lakh bangles. Other than this in this movement the other points included will be old age issues, handicap pension, corruption in distribution of ration of BPl card holders, inflation, in-spite of fall in crude oil prices the rise in diesel and petrol price and other similar issues, she addded. She informed that after the gherav there will be a meeting which will be addressed by president of State Congress Arun Yadav, national president of Women’s Congress Shobha Oza, former unionl minister Suresh Pachouri, national general secretary of Women’s Congress and in charge for Madhya Pradesh Shobna Shah and State president of Women’s Congress Mandvi Chouhan.
