The Opposition Congress would take out rally against demonetisation mismanagement on Monday in the State and the country.

Alleging that the demonetisation exercise was carried out sans adequate planning thereby causing inconveniences to the general public, Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Arun Yadav said on Thursday that the party would take out a rally across the country to protest against the mismanagement on November 28.

Yadav while talking to media persons here on Thursday said, “The party would take out rally at all the district headquarters in the State. Congress workers will submit memorandum to the respective district collectors while in the State capital Bhopal a memorandum would be submitted to the Governor.”

Yadav made it clear that the party was not protesting against the decision but against the mismanagement and would demand measures to bring relief to the common public. Replying to a query over the recent debacle in Shahdol parliamentary and Nepanagar assembly by-elections, Yadav said that Congress workers toiled hard and the loss would be reviewed.

He alleged that the State regime deployed the Government machinery to win the by-elections. On the appointment of the new Assembly Opposition leader in the wake of incumbent Opposition leader Satyadev Katare's demise, he said the decision would be taken by the party high command before the Winter Session of the state Assembly.

Stating that the demand for currencies has not eased even 16 days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi made the demonetisation announcement the State Congress president said there was no limit to the hardships faced by the marginal, poor and the middle class people, farmers, fishermen, weavers and small traders and the ruling regime has gone deaf towards their plight, hence the joint opposition has called on for a nation-wide protest on demonetisation of Currency on November 28.
