The Congress party that was striving hard to take revenge from the BJP, in snatching away its lok Sabha candidate from Bhind, struck back on Tuesday when it succeeded to lure Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Minister Vijay Shah's brother Ajay Shah.

Ajay Shah, elder brother of Food and Civil Supplies Minister Vijay Shah took membership of the Congress in presence of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee president and MP Arun Yadav, leader of Opposition in Madhya Pradesh Assembly Satyadev Katare and other office-bearers of the Congress including the Congress party's Betul lok Sabha candidate Rahul Chouhan and Betul MlA RK Dogne. Shah's family members including his son Abhijit Shah, Barkha Bhatnagar, youth leader Nirmesh Vyas and hundreds of followers of Shah, a former head of the Makdai Riyasat, also took membership of the Congress on the occasion.

Yadav welcomed Shah, his family members and supporters in the Congress fold and greeted them for expressing faith in Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi's policies and Congress party's ideology. Yadav said, "We are confident that the Congress would strengthen in the Betul-Harda region. I hope that this chine of BJP leaders and workers joining the Congress would continue and in the near future many more faces would ditch the saffron party to join Congress," he added.

Shah speaking on the occasion said that the day is of extreme happiness for him and his family, "day before yesterday Holika was burnt and as per our tradition we discard and destroy at least one evil on the occasion. Following this tradition I have decided to discard the BJP." "I am feeling very relaxed after joining the Congress as the BJP is a typical party whose leaders hide many faces under their front face. Former BJP ideologue has rightly said that the BJP is party of masks," he added.
