Congress leaders seemed divided over the issue of BJP leaders being named in the MPPEB scam.
Congress spokesman KK Mishra in his press conference made public phone call records of mining baron Sudhir Sharma, who is one of the prime accused in the scam. The records also figure name of Union Minister Uma Bharti.
Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh told media persons that name of Uma Bharti was raised in the scam strategically as Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan wants him to be safeguarded behind Uma Bharti. Singh further said Bharti is not guilty because she is the only leader who had in the beginning demanded CBI probe in the scam stating that it was the scam bigger than the fodder scam.
