BJP President Amit Shah here on Friday declared that the Congress will not be able to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections.

Talking about the new State Congress president, he said, “The contest in Madhya Pradesh is between corporate supporters and farmers, and so the Congress will not be able to defeat the BJP.”

Shah was addressing an extended meeting party workers and leaders on Friday.

Without naming the newly-appointed State Congress President Kamal Nath, Shah said, “If the Congress is having a face of a corporate supporter, BJP has farmers and trodden on its side. The fight is between the two.”

Shah said that the Congress has reached such a point that even if its President Rahul Gandhi were to use binoculars, he would not be able to locate his party. “From 2014, when the BJP came to power in the Centre, the Congress has been losing all the elections. The same will happen in Karnataka,” he added.

Shah further said that in Madhya Pradesh, there are over 1 crore party workers, out of which the party headquarters has direct touch with 65 lakh. He said, “If each of the workers spends five days preparing for polls, we will win in 2018 with the help of our organisation.”

He praised Shivraj Singh Chouhan for his pro-poor policies and claimed that BJP will win all the 29 seats in the State in the 2019 lok Sabha polls.

Shah criticised Congress president Rahul Gandhi for using the word 'Hindu terror' in 2014 and maligning the name of the country and Hindu community internationally.

Speaking on the occasion, Chouhan presented a road map of the Government’s programme for the next few months. He asked party workers to get people enrolled in Government schemes where lots of facilities are being extended to the beneficiaries.
