Cong biased against MP: Chouhan

Staff Reporter

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has alleged that the Congress government has been consistently discriminating against the people of the State.

Chouhan, who is on a 50-day Jan Ashirwad yatra, told media persons at Shajapur district headquarters on Friday that the Central ministers and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had ignored the safety and maintenance aspects of national highways in the State, even after fasts observed by him. “They do not bother about 7.5 crore population of MP,” he said, adding “whether it is agricultural products’ distribution, providing shelter to poor people or coal allocation, the Central government has always discriminated against the State.”

Taking pride in the good condition of roads in the State, Chouhan said the length of roads constructed by the BJP government in the last nine years was far greater than that built by the Congress governments in sixty years. Taking a jibe at the Centre, he said while the Congress plunged the State into darkness, the BJP provided it with round-the-clock electricity.

The Chief Minister further said the welfare schemes of the State government had put Madhya Pradesh in the list of most developed states of the country. Chouhan said that Congress was maligning BJP’s image in Delhi and also brainwashing the common public. Now, people would fight Congress on behalf of the BJP in the upcoming Assembly elections. On Congress spokesperson Digvijay Singh’s recent sexist remark on Congress MP Meenakshi Natarajan, Chouhan said “I pray to God to give wisdom to him.”

As the Congress is fighting for its existence in MP, they are using Central probe agencies like the CBI and the Income Tax department to defame the State’s ministers. He added, “Congress is directionless. They just know how to find ways to defame the BJP. In the upcoming elections, Congress would be defeated and we would form the government for a third time.”
