State-level vice-chancellors’ conference would be organised at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism in Bhopal on Wednesday, November 12.

A national discourse is also organised on Vivekananda’s vision on education: National resurgence during the conference. The function would see the participation of vice-chancellors of all the universities and educationists of the State. The conference would be inaugurated at 11 am in the conference hall of the university on Wednesday. The event would be presided over by former Himachal Pradesh Governor Justice Sadashiv Kokje.

During the Sardh Shati Samaroh of Swami Vivekananda, a two-day national conference of vice-chancellors was organised at New Delhi on November 16 and 17, 2013. During the event, it was decided that state level conventions of the vice-chancellors would be organised for national resurgence through the ideologies of Swami Vivekananda for education in India. Keeping this in mind, the State-level convention of the vice-chancellors is being organised at Journalism University.

Talking about the conference, the vice-chancellor of the university, Prof Brij Kishore Kuthiala said that Swami’s vision for education should

be discussed worldwide. Vivekanananda had said that society needed education of both religion and science, but in last 150 years the education system that we have developed neither understands science completely nor does it develop a vision for religion, said that vice-chancellor.

“The symposium being organised at the university would attempt to develop a vision for national resurgence on the basis of Swamiji’s vision for education,” Prof Kuthiala added. The proceedings of the national vice-chancellors’ conference organised in New Delhi in 2013 would also be released during the conference.
