Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has urged the Centre to approve an exhibition-cum-convention centre in Indore Diamond Park under ASIDE at the earliest.

In a letter to Union Commerce and Industries Minister Nirmala Sitaraman, the Chief Minister said that State Government’s proposal regarding approval to construct an exhibition-cum-convention centre at the Diamond Park in Indore under ASIDE (Assistance to States for Creating Infrastructure for Development and Growth of Exports) Scheme, sent to the Ministry on July 16, 2013.

The estimated cost of this project is Rs 104 crore and it envisages creation of facilities like 5 star hotel, exhibition area, conference hall, meeting rooms, auditorium etc. besides other facilities. On completion, export oriented units would utilise these facilities. The proposed set-up is likely to boost exports by about 25 to 30 per cent. However, approval of the proposal is awaited. The Chief Minister urged Sitaraman to look into the issue and expedite approval of the above proposal under ASIDE.
