Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has enquired about the well being of couples who tied nuptial knot under Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana.

Wishing them happy and successful life, the Chief Minister also assured them that the State Government stood by them through various Government schemes. Sending letters to the couples who tied the nuptial knot, the Chief Minister expressed that he got the opportunity to share problems of poor families through Kanyadan Yojana. There were a number of parents in the State who were worried about marriage of their daughters.

Earlier, the State Government had no role in mitigating worries of such families.  Chouhan said that he was happy that marriages of thousands of couples have been solemnised under Kanyadan Yojana launched by his Government. Chouhan said that he always had a sense of pride when he observed parents being happy on the occasion of their daughters’ marriage under Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana.

In the letter, the Chief Minister also urged all couples to avail benefit of the Government schemes after getting married. There are post-marriage schemes like Janani Suraksha, Godbharai, ladli laxmi Yojana, scheme for free uniform, books and cycles for students, Gaon Ki Beti Yojana and Pratibha Kiran Yojna which will benefit them in future. The Chief Minister urged all couples to send suggestions for further improvement in Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana. Since its launch, 2.31 lakh couples have tied nuptial knot under Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana in the State so far.
