The city buses, under AICTSL Indore that is a part of Indore Municipal Corporation, running between Indore and Mhow and few of them that also go to Pithampur via Mhow have been on halt for 2 years.
More than 25 thousand people daily travel between Mhow and Indore for education, employment and other purposes. The city buses are long buses and comfortable for the travelers that maintained Covid norms during Covid peak time.
For want of city buses, the Mhow passengers have to travel in tightly packed overcrowded private mini buses that run at great speed thus risking the life of the passengers.
AICTSL in the previous years have started many buses including A/C buses and buses for women only, but surprisingly, after a big inauguration and, pomp and circumstance, the number of buses plying between Mhow and Indore decreases and the buses come to a halt later on.
According to the sources, the AICTSL city bus which is meant for the benefit of public transport is a joint venture of World Bank Government of India and Government of MP.
CEO of Atal Indore city transport limited, Sandeep Soni told The Pioneer that after the lockdown we are opening all the routes gradually and the Indore Mhow route will be soon open and the buses will be again started for the benefit of the public.
It is to be noted that the women, old people, handicaps and children are most benefitted by the city buses as it is spacious and comfortable.
