Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s State-wide ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’ came to an end on Sunday in Indore.
On the last of his ‘ambitious’ yatra, Chouhan addressed six meetings in Indore district, city BJP president Shankar lalwani said. Chouhan embarked on 50-day Jan Ashirwad Yatra on July 22 by offering prayers at the famous Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain.
During the yatra, he covered 224 Assembly constituencies out of total 230 and travelled a distance of 8,000 km. With an aim to score a hat-trick in the upcoming Assembly elections on November 25, Chouhan even extended his yatra that was supposed to end on September 25 at the ‘KaryaKarta Mahakumbh’ rally in Bhopal.
During the long road-show, Chouhan addressed a large number of public gatherings where he not only highlighted his Government’s achievements but also slammed the Opposition Congress for a series of allegations levelled against his Government. During the yatra, Chouhan took rest for two days in a week and during that time only he used to discharge his official duties. Before the 2008 Assembly elections, Chouhan had embarked on a similar yatra which was flagged off in the presence of many BJP leaders including lK Advani.
On Sunday Chouhan tweeted as his yatra came to an end: Jan Ashirwad Yatra coming to an end today in Indore, but Jan Ashirwad will continue forever. I am blessed with so much of love & respect.
ShivrajSingh ChouhanIJ @ChouhanShivraj: looking at Indore makes me feel proud. The enterprising people of this city will completely absorb you and make you ‘Indori’ amongst them.
