Chouhan signals truce with Scindias

Ek Thi Rani Aisi Bhi' is all set to bring peace between Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and house of Scindias.

Post-Ater verdict, Chouhan has signaled truce and unilaterally offered to make a movie based on life of Rajmata Scindia tax free. The gesture is seen as Chouhan’s attempts to make amends for his offensive against Scindia family during Ater poll campaign. It had infuriated both branches of Scindia family in BJP and Congress.

In an order issued on Thursday, the State Government said that the feature film 'Ek Thi Rani Aisi Bhi', based on the life of Rajmata Scindia would be tax free.

The movie is being released on April 21.

Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia, belonging to the same Scindia family has expressed gratitude towards Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for his gesture towards Rajmata.

During recently held by-election in Ater (Bhind district) assembly constituency, at an election meeting Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had taken former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia by questioning patriotism of Scindias overlooking the presence of late Rajmata Scindia and a minister in his own cabinet Yashodhara Raje Scindia in the BJP.

While addressing a public rally in Sinhuda village of bypoll bound Ater, the Chief Minister had reportedly launched a scathing attack on the erstwhile royal Scindia family, saying that Scindias connived with the Britishers to unleash atrocities on innocent people.

The verbal attack by Chouhan was seen to particularly target the Guna MP and Congress chief whip in the lok Sabha Jyotiraditya Scindia, who is likely to be projected as Congress's chief ministerial candidate for the 2018 Assembly polls.

Besides few cabinet colleagues of Chouhan justified the statement of Chouhan, Madhya Pradesh Sports Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia expressed her anger early this month on tweeter by posting pictures of her mother Rajmata Scindia.

For quite some time, Yashodhara had been feeling sidelined in Madhya Pradesh because she got a comparatively light ministry.
