Rani Avanti Bai Lodhi was active in the revolt of 1857. Rani Avanti Bai, who became the architect of the liberation movement in Rewanchal, was the first female martyr. She fought continuously with the British. The British had to bow before her courage. Mandla and Ramgarh states became independent. The British sent troops from Nagpur to Ramgarh. Rani Avanti Bai's army was much smaller than the British army. The British army surrounded Rani Avanti Bai, who stood on the front. The queen was forced to give her life by stabbing her in the chest. She chose the honourable option instead of dying at the hands of the British. Rani Avanti Bai did the work of igniting the flame of independence by making sacrifice to protect her subjects. The Central Government also issued a postage stamp on March 20, 1988 in the memory of Veerangana Rani Avanti Bai.
