Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan helped a Muslim woman of Bhopal married to a Singapore based man hailing from Bengaluru. She was given talaq over Whatsapp video call.
A woman who was married to a NRI man based in Singapore, around 20 years ago, has alleged that her husband threw her out of home at midnight recently and later divorced her on WhatsApp video call when she was forced to return to her home in Bhopal.
The woman alleged that the police in Bengaluru did not help her and instead lodged a case against her when she sought police intervention in the matter. On her complaint, Koh-e-Fiza police have registered a case on woman’s husband Faiz Ansari under provisions of Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) 2019.
