A childless couple living at the residence of a doctor, committed suicide last night. The deceased identified as Ganesh Singh (35) and his wife Janakrani alias Malti (30) were found lying dead on the terrace of their house.
While Kunwar Singh's body was found hanging, his wife's body was lying on the roof. The incident came to light last night at around 11 pm when doctor couple on whose residence the couple was living, called them up for some work.
Not finding any response, the duo went to the room on the upper floor of their house and to their utter dismay found body of Rajesh was hanging from ceiling of the room, while his wife's body was found lying on the floor. Taken aback by the incident, the doctor couple immediately informed about the matter to Palasia police.
Soon after being informed about the matter, Palasia police accompanied by forensic expert Dr Sudhir Sharma reached the incident site, recovered the bodies and sent it to MY hospital for postmortem. Police suspect that Rajesh's wife would have committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling of her room. Rajesh finding body of his wife hanging from ceiling of the room, would have got upset and in a sheer frustration, he brought his wife's body on the ground and later himself committed suicide.
Though police did not find any suicide note from the incident site, it came to their knowledge that Rajesh's wife was apparently upset for not able to bear any child since her marriage.
Police said the couple was with the doctors couple till 10.30 pm on Wednesday night. Thereafter, they had gone to their room located on the upper floor of the house. The deceased (both residents of Khurai in Sagar district) had been to Indore five years back and since then had been living at the residence cup clinic of a doctor couple Dr Saurav Shhrivastav and Chitra Shrivastav in Shivshakti Nagar under Palasia police station locality.
The duo managed all the household and clinic works of the doctor couple. The deceased Janakrani had apparently reeling under acute frustration for not able to bear any child despite several years of their marriage and it might have prompted her to commit suicide, police said. Further action by the police would be taken only after postmortem report of the deceased, police added.
