Chairperson of Tribal Finance Development Corporation was injured when her car was hit by a speeding truck near Bilkishganj junction under Kotwali police station area on Monday.
According to the police, the victim Relam Chouhan was on her way to Bhopal to attend a meeting in her car along with driver when a truck bearing registration number 0594 hit their car injuring Relam critically and her driver Mohan Brahme.
The injured were rushed to Chirayu hospital and Brahme escaped with minor injuries and was discharged form the hospital later, while Chouhan was kept under observation. The truck driver lost control over the vehicle and rammed into the vehicle.
The driver managed to escape the spot after the accident leaving the truck. The truck was seized by the police later.
After the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 279 and 337 of the IPC and the identity of the errant truck driver has also been established by the police. The truck driver has been identified as Dilip Kumar Yadav of Uttar Pradesh.
The police have confirmed that the registration papers and other details of the accused have been recovered which would help in nabbing the accused soon.
The accident might have turned violent if the truck was damaged as it was gas container but only the passengers in the car were injured. The accident took place at around 10 am and there only a few vehicles on the road.
