'Chai pe charcha' failed in MP due to BJP leaders

SR

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in Madhya Pradesh including State president Narendra Singh Tomar were responsible for the failure of Narendra Modi’s ambitious programme ‘chai pe charcha’.

The national leadership of the party had given responsibility of the programme to a tea company while the party leaders of the State jumped

in making the programme a failure. The prime ministerial candidate of the BJP, Narendra Modi had invited youth and the common men over a cup of tea to discuss the current issues and problems, but the BJP leaders reached at all the places where the programmes were organised and occupied front seats.

With this, the arrangements became awry not only in the State capital but also in other 17 districts of the State where the programme was held despite the fact that the party leaders were asked to stay away from the programme. The common men could neither see nor hear Modi due to party leaders’ presence at the spots fixed for ‘chai pe charcha’.

The BJP's prime ministerial candidate on Wednesday evening remained present at the Iskon Gathiya tea stall in western Ahmedabad, earphones in his ears and engaged with people at tea stalls across the country. Giant TV screens relayed the interaction live at a 1000 tea stalls in 300 cities.

In Madhya Pradesh the programme was organised at 52 tea stalls spread in 17 districts including state capital Bhopal and commercial capital of the state Indore.

Party sources informed that leaders were strictly asked to remain aloof from the programme. However, defying the directives, the party leaders reached the places. State BJP president, State organisational general secretary Arvind Menon, UAD Minister kailash Vijayvargiya, MlA Vishwas Sarang, district party president Alok Sharma, State media in-charge Hitesh Bajpai and others reached Anand Poha Bhandar in MP Nagar and contributed in the failure of the programme.
