Alleging that the murderous game in the infamous VYAPAM or the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam has started once again after a brief pause, Rights activist from the state capital Ajay Dubey has demanded Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the suspicious death of former Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Vijay Bahadur Singh.

Dubey in a statement here on Friday said, “The murderous era in the VYAPAM scam that stopped after the announcement of CBI probe of the scam on July 9 has restarted with the suspicious death of former IFS Vijay Bahadur Singh who was appointed on various committees of VYAPAM from 2010 to 2013.”

Dubey further said that Singh remained involved as member of the question paper selection committee, answer sheets valuation committee and others in about a dozen VYAPAM examinations from 2010 to 2013. His death under suspicious conditions in a train in Odisha indicates that the murderous game in the infamous scam has restarted after a brief pause, he added.

He said that here it is necessary to bring to the notice that the former minister laxmikant Sharma and many other big officers of the government are in jail for the irregularities committed in the examination of contact teachers class 3 eligibility examination 2011 were conducted in the observation of Singh only.

He said that we demand that CBI should immediately take cognisance of the case and include it in its purview and start investigation of Singh’s suspicious death and provide security to other observers. Besides, these observers need to get interrogated by the CBI, he added. He said that our plea in this regard has already been presented before the Supreme Court and hearing is going on over that. Notably, about 50 deaths of personals associated with the VYAPAM scan were reported in a span of about two years.
