There was a fierce protest in MP for filming objectionable scenes in saffron colored clothes in the song 'Besharam Ran' from Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone's film Pathan. Home Minister Narottam Mishra, Assembly Speaker Girish Gautam, MP Sadhvi Pragya Thakur and even the Leader of the Opposition Govind Singh also raised objections. Many Hindu and Muslim organisations also opposed it. After continuous protests, there may be a change in the objectionable scenes of this film.
The Central Board for Film Certification (CBFC) on Thursday gave some suggestions to film makers for change. CBFC Chairperson Prasoon Joshi said- We have asked the makers to submit the revised version to us before the release of the film. The censor board suggested this after watching the film closely. CBFC chairperson Prasoon Joshi said on Pathan, the censor board always maintains a balance between creativity and the sensitivity of the audience. We are confident that we can find some way out through dialogue. Notably, the film is to be released in cinema houses on January 25.
Home Minister Narottam Mishra welcomed the decision of the Censor Board. He said that when the matter came up before him, he objected to the malicious attempt to hurt the sentiments of the majority class with a tainted mindset. Reel life also affects real life. Producers, directors and artists should all keep this in mind.
