Cashless treatment scheme launched for road accident victims

Indore hospitals will now offer free, cashless treatment up to Rs 1.5 lakh for road accident victims under the newly launched ‘Cashless Treatment Scheme 2025’.

At a meeting on Friday, Indore Collector Ashish Singh instructed hospital operators to register within three days and ensure the scheme is fully implemented across all facilities within a week.

The scheme, initiated by the Centre, aims to ensure swift, free treatment for accident victims at designated hospitals. Treatment will be cashless for up to seven days or until Rs 1.5 lakh is exhausted.

Hospitals must only stabilise victims before transferring them to designated facilities for further care. The district road safety committee will monitor implementation under the Motor Vehicles Act.

Singh said ensuring timely medical aid is a state priority. He also reminded officials that Madhya Pradesh’s ‘Rahveer Yojana’ offers Rs 25,000 to anyone helping transport a crash victim to a hospital.
