A case has been filed in the Bhopal district court against the kin of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for illegally occupying residential plots by becoming members of the Rohit Housing Finance Cooperative Society.

A private petition was filed on Wednesday by JK Jain in the court of First Class Judicial Magistrate (JMFC) against the family members of Chouhan and office bearers of the society. Jain in his petition alleged that the current and former office bearers of the society conspired and illegally allotted 80 plots to such persons who were not eligible.  The plots were allotted to those who were neither in the seniority list nor were they in the membership list of the society, he added.

He said that a complaint was made in this regard with the registrar cooperative societies, taking action on it the joint registrar ordered to deputy registrar to conduct enquiry over it. After enquiry, Deputy Registrar found that Amarnath Mishra and Tulsiram Chandakar of the society in connivance with other persons conspired in this direction to provide plots to kins of the CM.

Many eligible persons were removed and chief minister’s brother Rohit Singh Chouhan and Mamta Chouhan were not only made members but sale-letters were also executed in their name, he added. He said that after the enquiry when the deputy registrar was asked to lodge an FIR against the office bearers concerned and persons found guilty in the enquiry, then in some cases FIR was registered against some persons with the Shahjehanabad police station, besides a FIR was also lodged with the EOW.

But due to connivance of deputy commissioner cooperatives Ashok Mihsra with other accused no FIR was registered against them, that is why this petition has been filed, he added. He said the act of the persons is a crime under sections 420, 467, 468, 471, 406, 120 B and 34 of IPC; hence a case be registered against all the accused including the relatives of the chief minister in the appropriate sections of the IPC.
