The State cabinet on Tuesday decided to increase amount for construction of house under Mukhyamantri Aawas Mission from Rs 75,000 to Rs 1.20 lakh. Of this revised cost, Rs 50,000 thousand will be given as loan by bank and Rs 50,000 subsidy will be given by the Government. Remaining Rs 20,000 will be contributed by beneficiary.
This contribution will be in the form of cash, kind and labour or combined. If a beneficiary wishes then additional loan upto Rs 30,000 may be sanctioned by bank to him on the basis of his repayment capacity. But, there will be no interference of the State Government in sanction of additional loan.
The cabinet gave ex-post facto approval to the directive of the Religious Trusts and Endowment Minister to keep in suspension till further orders the auction of agricultural land attached to government-managed temples taking their possession from temple priests.Besides, the cabinet deiced to extend the period of decision of not leasing out agricultural land attached to government-managed temples and keep them under possession of priest till upto May 31, 2014.
The cabinet decided to constitute Major Project Control Board to be headed by the Chief Minister under the Water Resources Department. Its members will include Ministers of Finance, Water Resources, Narmada Valley Development and Agriculture departments, the Chief Secretary, Agriculture Production Commissioner and Principal Secretaries of Agriculture, Finance and Water Resources departments and Vice-Chairman of Narmada Valley Development Authority. Chief Engineer Water Resources will be its Secretary.
Dissolving Progress Review Committee, Project Examination Committee, Empowered Committee, state-level Water Sources Utilisation Committee and Steering Committee headed by the Chief Secretary, the cabinet decided to constitute Empowered Committee headed by the Chief Secretary.This committee’s members will include Agriculture Production Commissioner, Principal Secretaries of Finance and Water Resources department, Chief Engineer Water Resources and Director of World Bank Project of Water Resources Department. Chief Engineer Bodhi Project will be its Secretary.
Empowered Committee will have all the powers of Project Review Committee. It will examine proposals regarding administrative sanction of medium and major projects of Water Resources Department.
The committee will be empowered to sanction financial tenders worth Rs 50 crore to Rs 100 crore of Water Resources Department.
