A day after the son of a businessman was abducted from Madhya Pradesh’s commercial capital, Indore, the police on Tuesday succeeded in freeing him and arrested three people, including a woman, in this connection.

Cloth trader Anil Rajguru’s son Ashish (24) was abducted on Monday evening. A ransom of Rs 1 cr was demanded for his release. His family had reported the matter at Vijaynagar police Station.

Ashish had gone to Rhythm Garden in connection with the marriage of his cousin. While returning, he went missing mysteriously. After two hours, when he was untraceable, his friends contacted family members and, in the meantime, Anil Rajguru received a ransom call made from his son’s cell phone.

After the matter was reported to the police, in the preliminary investigation, the last location of Ashish’s cell phone was found near a liquor shop at Vijaynagar. The police also went through the CCTV camera footages of the shop.

Superintendent of Police Rajesh Sahay said the success came when a phone call came at around 6 am over ransom and the tower location was traced in an apartment in Vijaynagar area. On this, the police cordoned off the whole area and raided the flat. Ashish was safely rescued.

The police arrested a woman, Jassi, her lover Ishan and one Kesar Singh. Ashish could not speak much following his rescue as he was terrified. Jassi works in a private office located above Ashish’s cloth shop. She was reportedly the mastermind of the abduction.
