A deputy general manager (DGM) of Bharatiya Sanchar Nigam limited was on Thursday caught red-handed by Madhya Pradesh lokayukta’s Special Police Establishment while accepting a bribe of Rs42,000 from a contractor.
“On the basis of a complaint, Gopichand Tolwani was arrested from his office in GTB Complex here,” Ujjain lokayukta Superintendent of Police Siddhartha Chaudhary said.
The accused had allegedly demanded the bribe from the contractor for payment of due bills to the tune of Rs15 lakh concerning laying of optical fibre cable between Mandsaur and Neemuch done by him. He was arrested under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
