The bodies of a young man and a woman were found on Wednesday night in the top floor room of Hotel Banjara near Alpana Talkies in Bhopal. The woman's body was hanging from the fan. The body of the young man was lying on the bed. A pillow was found put over his mouth and a muffler was wrapped around his neck.
Both are residents of Katni and are said to be boyfriend and girlfriend and were missing from home for three days. The door of the hotel room was locked from inside. The police have not found any evidence of any outsider's arrival.
At present no suicide note has been found from the spot. In the initial investigation, the police have expressed suspicion that the woman might have hanged herself after murdering the young man. The young man looks physically weak.
SHO Awadhesh Singh Bhadauria said that the police had reached the hotel on Wednesday evening after receiving information from Hotel Banjara. The young man and the woman had booked a room in the hotel on Tuesday night. Food was also ordered in the room at 10.30 pm the same night. Both of them did not come out till 6 pm on Wednesday evening. There was no response even after calling the hotel staff. When the police opened the door and entered the room, the body of a 19-year-old woman was on the fan, while the body of a young man was lying on the bed. A blanket was also wrapped around the young man's body.
From the documents submitted in the hotel, the young man was identified as Manish Chakraborty (23), resident of Bilhari village, Katni and the woman was identified as Kiran Kevat (21), resident of Khitauli, Katni. The police have called the families of both of them on the basis of the mobile numbers found on the document. FSL team has investigated.
ACP Rakesh Baghel told that the police has found the youth's mobile phone from the room. On the basis of the number found in it, we talked to his uncle. Uncle told that Manish had a dispute with his family. Three days ago he had left home without informing. They were not aware that he had gone to Bhopal with the woman.
Manish's mobile phone was in flight mode. Whereas, Kiran's mobile was not found. Hotel staff says that both of them did not bring luggage with them.
