It would be a happy ride for the citizens travelling by public transport, as to provide them with better facilities Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) will introduce the facility of radio taxi soon.
After the air-conditioned and non-air conditioned low-floor buses, the BMC with BCll will soon begin the radio taxi services. Notably, Swift Desire cars will be run as the radio taxi and a trial run of the taxi is being carried out by the BMC. Moreover, all the advanced facilities will be provided to the passengers. The cabs will
operate through radio signals. When a customer will call up the helpline number of the radio taxi, the operator will communicate with chauffeur (driver) via radio signals to locate the nearest taxi. The taxi will reach the customer as required at the specific place and time.
Notably, BMC Commissioner Vishesh Ghardpale is inspecting the cab services on a regular basis and carried out the trials as well. Here on Tuesday, DIG D Shrinivas Varma took the trial of the radio taxi. Further on Wednesday DRM of West Central Railway Bhopal Board Rajiv Chowdhary took the trial run of the radio taxi and travelled from Habibganj to Chetak Bridge, to Jyoti Cineplex, to Board Office Square till DRM Office.
While expressing his contentment over the introduction of radio taxi, Chowdhary said that with the introduction of radio taxi the transportation facilities would improve. Further, he was also informed about the facilities to be provided by radio taxi such as, technical information, speed and operation of the cab by the officials concerned. Chowdhary then appreciated the newly-introduced transport facility.
