We are glad that the event was successful from four consecutive years.

Hamidia Hospital Blood Bank in-charge Upendra Mohan Sharma and Director National Blood Transfusion Counsil Dr BS Ohri speaking on the occassion said that in the year 2001 the amount of donated blood collection was about 60 thousand units which have now reached the level of 2.5 lacs units per year. We all know about the scarcity of blood, and when it comes to blood then we talk about safe blood which is free from diseases like AIDS, HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Malaria etc. Scientifically it is believed that the blood donated willingly is comparatively safe and it is considered that it does not carries the above mentioned diseases, that is why we promote blood donation.
