Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP in Ujjain Anil Firozia was in for some embarrassing moments as the family of the BJP worker who died of Covid-19 slammed him for slackness alleging no party leader helped him out despite several pleas.

The anguished family was so upset that the BJP MP immediately returned without meeting them. A video of the said incident also went viral in social media later on.

BJP worker Jitendra Sheere had died at Madhav Nagar hospital on Thursday and his near and dear ones alleged that Sheere died due to short supply of oxygen. Angry BJP workers had vandalised the hospital and tried assaulting administrative officers present there.

Local BJP MP Anil Firozia approached the family to offer condolences on Friday but the family members lost cool seeing the MP at their steps. Sheere’s wife and sister slammed the party leaders with some harsh words alleging Jitendra messaged all party seniors for help but none obliged. The MP and his men quietly listened to the rant for few minutes and then retreated from the scene.

Meanwhile Congress party workers had staged a protest at the hospital later on Thursday only to be booked by police under section 188 of IPC.

District collector Ashish Singh later denied charges that anyone had died due to scarcity in oxygen supply. Relatives of one of the patients might have received misinformation that the patient died due to oxygen supply failure, said the collector accepting that oxygen supply was an issue but it was arranged from multiple sources for the facility.

On Wednesday and Thursday, four patients who tested positive for Covid19 had died at the hospital in Ujjain. Madhav Nagar police had lodged a case against violent BJP workers over vandalism and obstruction to government work.

Congress party is constantly slamming Shivraj government over scarcity of oxygen for patients and on Friday issued an audio claiming it to be a conversation from a private hospital owner and an oxygen supplier. The supplier says that oxygen is in huge short supply and he could only manage one or two cylinders.
