Staff Reporter

State Congress has alleged that a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) affluent has duped the State Government to the crores through illegal mining.

Chairman, Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) — Media department, Manak Agarwal in a statement here on Tuesday said, “The small persons gone affluent under the BJP rule are out to make loot of the Government treasury in almost every district of the State, examples of such loot by the BJP affluent persons have started getting exposing. The activities of the BJP affluent pretend that the entire underground and on ground property of the Government belongs to them.”

Agarwal citing example of the Vidisha district further said, “A contractor associated with the BJP took 2.5 hectare Government land from the total land of 12782 hectares through auction on Patta in the village Modal of Kurwai tehsil in Vidisha district. The tenure of the Patta came to an end on March 31, 2013.

But due to his strong connections with the ruling BJP the contractor Sanjay Jain continues to carry his illegal mining activities over 62 Bighas of land.” He said that how much losses the government is bearing through this illegal mining could be gauged from the fact that daily 40 to 50 dumpers of illegal Moram is extracted from village Modal.  Information reaching here is that till now the contrctor has extracted over one lakh dumpers load of Moram despite the fact that he does not have any right to extract a single dumper since his Patta expired, but he continues his business unabated due to patronage from mining departments officials,   the local administration officials,  he added.

The senior Congress said that the contractor is also terrifying the villagers who opposed his illegal activities. The villagers have approached the local authorities many times but no action has been initiated against the contractor, he added.
