After a Congress leader termed Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan as 'Bhookha Nanga' (Poor), Chouhan and his party is out to take full advantage of this in the by-elections. The BJP has launched ‘Main Bhi Shivraj’ campaign while replying to a personal attack on the Chief Minister. A similar campaign ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’ in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made headlines ahead of Lok Sabha polls last year when the Congress had attacked the PM who likes calling himself Desh ka Chowkidar.
Meanwhile, the campaign Main Bhi Shivraj was kick-started by BJP state president Vishnu Datt Sharma who changed his twitter profile to ‘Main Bhi Shivraj’ tagline and a picture of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday late evening. However, interestingly as thousands of leaders and workers affiliated to the BJP state unit followed the footsteps of the state president, Rajya Sabha MP Jyotiraditya Scindia and his supporters despite now being in BJP distanced themselves from the party initiative.
